Invested in Our People
Our DEI program and BKM Women’s Network contribute to a diverse culture where every voice is valued and every employee feels like they belong.
DEI Initiatives
Fostering more transparent dialogue opens minds, opportunities, and possibilities for each other and those we serve. We believe in partnerships with organizations that share our values, transparency in measuring targets and progress, and regular communication, both internally and externally.
1BKM considers associate director level & higher employees as leadership. Note: BKM Employee diversification as of March 31, 2023. Industry benchmarks according to 2022 NAREIM-Ferguson Partners Diversity & Inclusion Survey. BKM is an equal opportunity employer: race, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, age, or military status.
Employee Health & Well-being
At BKM, we are committed to the health and well-being of our employees. Our initiatives include corporate-sponsored pickleball and basketball leagues, team tournaments, and a variety of other wellness events throughout the year. We support physical health by encouraging healthy habits, providing ergonomic office furniture, and offering nutritious snacks. Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) enhances mental health with resources such as counseling, stress management training, and family support groups. We foster a positive work environment through open communication and community-building activities. By prioritizing employee well-being, we reduce absenteeism, boost productivity, and attract top talent. Additionally, we promote sustainability by encouraging eco-friendly practices and extend our culture of wellness to our employees' families and local communities.
Empowering Women
We created the BKM Women’s Network in 2022 to support women at BKM through mentorship, community and educational events. BKM provides ongoing support, inspiration, and opportunities to connect, share, learn and lead.
BKM tracks metrics such as employee demographics, women and minority owned businesses in our tenant base, and looks to track the impact of our philanthropic efforts on increasing social equity.
