As a member of the Advisory Board, Jeff Gehl advises the BKM management team in its strategic direction, investor relations, and back-office operations. Gehl brings more than 15 years of experience in the private equity industry to BKM and currently holds the position of Managing Principal and co-founder of RCP Advisors.
Jeff Gehl is currently the Managing Principal and co-founder of RCP, a leading private equity fund-of-funds and secondary sponsor focused on North American lower middle market buyouts. With $30 billion in assets under management, Gehl leads 30 full-time professionals to invest in primary fund-of-funds, secondary funds, and co-investments along top-quality managers within strategic segments. RCP’s investments consistently deliver top quartile returns for their limited partners. Since its inception, RCP has executed over 150 partnership investments with over 80 general partners.
Gehl is responsible for leading RCP’s client relations function and covering private equity fund managers in the western United States. RCP boast clients from 42 states, 17 countries, and 5 continents and includes endowments, foundations, corporate and public pensions, insurance companies, banks, healthcare organizations, and family offices. In addition, Jeff is a member of the Investment Committee and active as an Advisory Board member of various underlying funds.
Prior to founding RCP, Jeff was involved in various stages of private equity including start-ups, turnarounds, and buyouts, where he had experience in both financing and senior operations. Jeff successfully founded and served as Chairman and CEO of MMI, a technical staffing company and acquired Big Ballot, Inc., a sports marketing firm. Jeff received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Entrepreneur Program, from which he received the 1989 “Entrepreneur of the Year” award.
